On the eve of  May 24 on the Bridge of Lovers near the National Palace of Culture, an exhibition of posters dedicated to the letters was opened.

It was realized by the International Triennial of Stage Poster – Sofia and the Metropolitan Municipality, with the support of the Plakat Studio and J-point.

The exhibition is composed of poster collections of the two alphabets - the Cyrillic alphabet and the Latin alphabet. Each of the letters is a separate poster. The authors of the Latin alphabet are 12 world-famous graphic designers from three continents, united by the legendary modern visual culture and graphic design - the Pentagram studio.

The organizers of the International Triennial of the Stage Poster - Sofia, provoked by the priceless gift they received from one of the Pentagram members - Paula Scher in 1995 in New York, created the series "Bulgarian Alphabet". With these posters, the artists: Bojidar Ikonomov /1943 – 2016/, Bojidar Ionov, Georgi Lipovanski and Lyudmil Chelharov, both seriously and with a sense of humor raised the controversial issue about the "Bulgarization" of the Latin characters, the illiteracy in their application in our everyday computer practice; but above all they continue their colleagues' idea about the infinite imagery of the LETTER.

The Bulgarian part of the series decorated the main street of the town of Sandanski during the solemn procession on May 24th.

The material is provided by the International Triennial of Stage Poster – Sofia.
