It was held on the 2nd of June at Park Hotel “Moskva”. The conference was organized by the Cultural Representation to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Republic of Bulgaria on the occasion of the 28th anniversary
of the death of the leader of the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Bulgarian and Iranian speakers took part in it.
Mr. Mohammad Ali Kiani, Counselor for the Cultural Affairs of IR Iran, under whose direction the Cultural Representation is working, highlighted in his speech some of the key qualities of Imam Khomeini's unique personality. "His personal, social and political qualities built up a wise leader who managed to give a new life to Iran and the Islamic world and rescue them from a crisis." He further referred to some of them in particular: "According to his friends and his enemies Khomeini possessed moral qualities such as kindness and leniency, insight and wit, reliability, forgiveness and compassion, rationality, modesty and humility. He was apart from vanity and formality, and neglected moral passions, devoted to the problems of the oppressed; he helped those in need in their difficulties. His indescribable courage to fight the difficulties and his clear position have always been seen as an example of prestige, сmpertinence, resistance to tyranny and thirst for justice."
Khomeini announces the aims and aspirations of the Islamic Revolution and harnesses his full potential in their realization. This was also stressed by Dr. Hassan Dotagi-chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hristo Paunov took a look at Khomeini's position on the civilization bases of Islam. Dr. Nabiola Masoumi, a philosopher and poet from Iran, talked about Khomeini's poetry and its relation to Persian poetry and literature.
