On the 3rd of June, in the hall of the community centre "Slavic Discourse" the Embassy of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in the republic of Bulgaria organized a screening of the popular film "Masquerades". In fact, this charming comedy
was recently successfully presented here in Bulgaria at the Sofia MENAR Film Festival. An Algerian-French co-production, the work of the young Algerian director Lye Salem enjoyed great success among audiences in many countries and not coincidentally has won many awards, including that of the International Film Festival in Dubai for Best Film, the FIPRESCI Prize "Lumiere" - for most promising young actor (Mohammed Bushaib), "Cesar"- nomination for best debut.
The film tells an interesting life situation, full of emotion, humor, colours from the nature and paintings of the contemporary reality. It shows the lives of ordinary people in a typical Algerian village.
