On 29 September H. E. Mr. Rajesh Kumar Sachdeva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Bulgaria, and his wife Mrs. Promila Sachdeva gave a reception at their residence
on the occasion of the Day of the Program for Technical and Economic Cooperation of India /ITEC/. It was attended by Bulgarians from different sectors of society who took part in recent trainings under this program, friends of India, journalists.
The program was officially introduced by a decision of the Indian government on September 15, 1964. Therefore, this date was set for Day of ITEC. It is a bilateral program and is fully sponsored by the Indian government. With that program the 161 countries that were invited to take part /including Bulgaria/ get acquainted with the experience of India in the technical and economic progress acquired over the past years. This is done in various ways, one of which is training. In the trainings students from different countries learn new things, establish contacts and get to know the Indians and their culture better.
