On 22 November in Sofia Hotel Balkan, Ms. Suzan Mouzi, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim at the Embassy of the Lebanese Republic to the Republic of Bulgaria, hosted a reception on the occasion of the national holiday of the country.
The celebration of the 73rd anniversary of the Independence Day, was accompanied with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Therefore, in her address to welcome the numerous guests, Mrs. Suzan Mouzi spoke about the continuous deepening of the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Bulgaria in all areas and expressed her gratitude to the people, who have promoted the development of the Bulgarian-Lebanese friendship over the past 50 years.
She stressed the difficulties experienced by Lebanon at the moment as a country situated in a troubled region, but despite that remaining an island of pluralism and living in collaboration, avoiding tension and chaos. "A very hopeful political process was launched after the prolonged dysfunction of the institutions and the vacant presidential post. The election of His Excellency General Michel Aoun as the new president of the republic, the continuous efforts to create a new government, the willingness to hold parliamentary elections in spring in accordance with a new election law that ensures fair representation, are all steps to pave the way to national partnership at various levels of governmental and constitutional authorities."

The reception was attended by ambassadors, diplomats, representatives of senior state administration, journalists, cultural figures, friends of Lebanon and representatives of the Lebanese community in the country.
