On July 5 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Bulgaria - Mrs. Orietta Caponi, and her husband, Prof. Juan Miguel Diaz Ferrer, offered a reception at their residence on the occasion of the National Day of the country.

In the courtyard, in front of the Monument to the Liberator Simon Bolivar, gathered many guests: ambassadors, officials, friends of Venezuela.

The celebration started with placing wreaths and flowers in front of the monument. H. E. Mrs. Orietta Caponi read a welcome speech, recalling that on July 5th, 206 years of signing the Declaration of National Independence of Venezuela are celebrated. To reach this point "many men and women sacrificed their lives for the great, free and sovereign homeland we have today. The father of our homeland, Simon Bolivar, with the victory at Carabobo, achieved Venezuela's independence, which over the years has borne the burden of numerous treasons. This is a long process that has not finished yet... " The ambassador then referred to the Bolivarian model of building the state: "Since 1999, our people, inspired by the ideas and the leading role of commandant Hugo Chavez, has built a democratic model of integration and participation that seeks to make the dream of Simon Bolivar for a sovereign and free Republic, in which freedom, justice, equality and social happiness reign, a reality." With concrete figures, she described the achievements of Venezuela in the social sphere and its determination to uphold them.

And then the guests enjoyed traditional Venezuelan dishes in the coolness of the garden of the residence.
